Abstract
Purpose : The aim of this research is to develop a questionnaire to measure the grit of cadets in Korea Armed Forces Nursing Academy (KAFNA) and test the validity and reliability of the scale.

Methods : The initial items were identified through a literature review and 4 focus groups of 17 cadets in their 3rd and 4th year at KAFNA. Content validation of the initial questionnaire with 53 items was evaluated by 10 experts which were 5 professors and 5 discipliners in KAFNA. To test the validity and reliability of the final questionnaire with 51 items, 320 cadets in their 1st to 4th year at KAFNA were surveyed. Furthermore, convergent validity, exploratory factor analysis and internal consistency test were performed.

Results : The final questionnaire with 26 items are categorized into 5 domains (feeling recognized, perceiving the priorities, finding the meanings, motivating myself, having an interest), which explained 61.7% of the total variances. Cronbach's alpha for the total items was .94.

Conclusion : This questionnaire could be used in the development and evaluation of educations and counseling to improve Grit.
